Director of Outpatient Services at Calvary Addiction Recovery Center Publishes Article in NewsletterJim Corrington, director of outpatient services at Calvary Addiction Recovery Center, a Psychiatric Solutions, Inc. (PSI) facility, recently authored an article published in the spring 2010 issue of the Arizona Pharmacy Alliance newsletter. The article, written on behalf of the Pharmacists Assisting Pharmacists of Arizona (PAPA), addresses the potential dangers of the sleep aid prescription drug Ambien. Corrington discusses the negative side effects that often accompany taking Ambien, even within physician-prescribed limits. These side effects include amnesia, blackouts and addiction. “Ambien is a very serious prescription medication that people may not recognize as being potentially dangerous,” said Chris Diamond, CEO of Calvary Addiction Recovery Center. “We strive to provide our patients with the best counseling and resources available. Jim is a leader in the field of addiction treatment and recovery in Arizona, and we are proud that he is a part of our team here at Calvary.” Corrington often treats pharmacists, physicians, nurses, pilots, athletes and other impaired professionals who are struggling with addiction in Calvary’s inpatient program. He has worked with impaired professionals in Arizona for more than 10 years. ### |
